Workshops At plentiFILL

plentiFILL occupies a unique and critically important role in our community. They operate a highly organized and utilized recycling program for cosmetics containers, permanent markers, flexible plastics, and more. They also only offer chemical-free and non-toxic products that are produced by local or Canadian makers. Their advocacy for waste reduction and planet healthy alternatives is truly admirable.

Workshops At The Duncan Garage

The Duncan Garage is a fantastic vegetarian restaurant that serves mouthwatering dishes cooked with fresh ingredients often grown right in the valley. They are an awesome supporter of local organizations like Nourish Cowichan, Cowichan Valley Youth Services, and Cowichan Women Against Violence Society. Not only does their generosity energize the community, but their delicious meals are loaded with the most nutritious local produce and goods, providing a source of real food for the Cowichan Valley and promoting a healthy diet.

This super awesome establishment is nestled inside a historic old yellow garage built in the early 1900s. The garage is gone now, replaced by a complex of small businesses that form a tight community. There's a bookstore, record store, salon, yoga studio, art gallery, and more. It is really worth checking out when they are open.

We are lucky enough to have access to one of the spacious and bright rooms downstairs after hours. The natural beams of the building are delightfully exposed, and local art adorns the walls for all to admire (or purchase). This space is amazing for entertaining and offers a large seating area with a nice wooden bar.
