Jar Return Program

At Cosmic Candles, we have put thought into every step of the consumer experience. We know that candle vessels often get thrown out at the end of their life. Once the candle is burned there is no reason left to keep the jar. But what if there was? In an effort to reduce our resource consumption and to give new life to old vessels, we made our candle products are refillable! Simply bring your used candle to plentiFILL, leave your name, number, and the scent you would like to refill (doesn't have to be the same as you purchased). We take your jar, clean it up, and pour fresh candle wax to make a brand new candle. After curing for one week, the candle will be ready to pickup at plentiFILL. Refilling a candle will reduce the price of the candle by $5.00 making it a more cost-effective option than constantly buying a new one. We hope that efforts like this will help others think about how they can reuse items that typically get thrown away. We are always considering ways to be mindful about our impact on the planet.

Plastic Free Packaging

Plastics have long been regarded as a miracle material, cheap, abundant, and durable. Those same properties have ended up creating an ecological disaster on an unprecedented scale. Plastics have been manufactured on a mass scale and used for every application. From wrapping food to paint. Our widespread acceptance and use of plastics has resulted in them permeating every environment on Earth. The durability of plastic was understated. It never degrades. Plastics end up in our landfills, oceans, and forests breaking down into smaller and smaller particles. Nano-particles called microplastics have been integrated into the food chain and are making their way into humans. Now tiny particles of plastic are in the very air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. Even plants grown in soil with microplastics will absorb them and end up in their cells. While this global disaster caused by overconsumption is alarming, we can not allow ourselves to feel overwhelmed. Reducing our reliance on plastic today can still make a difference. The plastics that have infiltrated our environment are bad enough, we must stop adding to the problem. Every company should be moving away from plastics wherever possible. We will never package or ship our products with plastic and will always use more sustainable and less harmful alternatives, even when the cost is higher. No cost is as high as the cost of our ecosystems health.

No Petroleum Products

Backpacking off of our commitment to say no to plastics. We will never offer petroleum based products or use petroleum based ingredients in our goods. This is highly relevant when considering the types of wax available to candlemakers. Paraffin in particular, is a byproduct of oil production and not only does it release harmful toxins, but using it benefits oil companies. Cosmic Candles is against the use of fossil fuels and only uses clean-burning plant-based oils and wax.
